How we collect, use and look after your personal information when you visit our website, get in touch or work with us.

The short version

Plain English
  1. 01We only collect what we need: your details when you get in touch, sign up for updates or work with us.
  2. 02We never sell your data, and we only share it with the services that help us run the studio.
  3. 03Our newsletter is opt-in. Every email has an unsubscribe link and you can leave whenever you like.
  4. 04You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time. Just email us.

Who we are

Super 8 Studio is the trading name of Supereight Studio Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 06788663), with studios in Oxfordshire, UK and Valencia, Spain. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy, and we’re registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (registration number ZC279218).

What we collect

Depending on how you use our website and services, we may collect:

  • Contact details, such as your name, email address, company and website.
  • Project information you share with us through our brief form, by email or on a call, including budget and timing.
  • Your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter.
  • Technical information such as your browser, device, approximate location and the pages you visit, collected by our website host and our analytics tool when you visit.
  • Billing details for clients, such as company address and VAT number.

How we use it

  • To reply to enquiries and prepare proposals and quotes.
  • To deliver projects and manage our relationship with clients.
  • To send our newsletter, if you’ve asked to receive it.
  • To understand how our website is used, so we can improve it.
  • To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

Under UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, we rely on: your consent (for the newsletter and any non-essential cookies); the performance of a contract (for client work); our legitimate interests (for replying to enquiries and running our business); and legal obligations (for record keeping).

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted providers who help us run the studio, such as our website host (Netlify), our analytics provider (Cloudflare), our email and newsletter provider, cloud storage and our accountants. They may only use it to provide their service to us.

International transfers

We work across the UK and Spain, and some of our providers are based outside the UK and EEA. Where information is transferred internationally, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don’t become projects: up to 2 years.
  • Client and financial records: 6 years after the end of the financial year, as required by law.
  • Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.

Cookies and analytics

We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, so you won’t see a cookie banner here.

  • Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t track you across other sites and doesn’t build a profile of you.
  • Settings on your device. A few things you choose, like your language, ambient sound settings or a hidden easter egg mode, are remembered in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device and you can clear them any time in your browser settings.
  • Embedded videos. Some pages include videos from YouTube or Vimeo. YouTube videos only load when you press play, using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, and Vimeo videos are set not to track you. Once a video plays, that service’s own privacy policy applies.

If we ever add anything that needs your permission, we’ll ask first and update this policy.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to restrict or object to how we use it, to ask for a copy in a portable format and to withdraw consent at any time. Email us and we’ll respond within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) in the UK or the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es) in Spain.

Keeping it safe

We use sensible technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including secure, access-controlled tools and two-factor authentication.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
